The quarterly academic online journal “LIFELONG EDUCATION: The 21st Century” was founded in April 2013. Annually, the journal publishes more than 40 academic articles written by the authors across the Russian Federation, as well as academics from abroad.
The founders of the journal are: the well-known Russian scientist, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Irina Apollonovna Kolesnikova (Editor-in-Chief, 2013‒2017) and Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences Elena Vladimirovna Ignatovich (Deputy Editor-in-Chief, 2013‒2015). Since 2018, the journal has been headed by Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Tatyana Anatolyevna Babakova (formerly Deputy Chief Editor).
Since 09.08.18 the journal has been included in the list of peer-reviewed journals of the Higher Attestation Commission for the following areas of study – 5.8. Pedagogy, scientific specialties:
5.8.1 General pedagogy, history of pedagogy and education;
5.8.2. Theory and methods of training and education (by fields and levels of education);
5.8.7. Methodology and technology of professional education.
Electronic articles are equal to printed academic papers, the full texts and the bibliographical descriptions are included in the E-library database, ERIH PLUS, Cyberleninka.
The publication is carried out with the financial support of the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education "Petrozavodsk State University".
