Abstract
The 18th-century French culture was in the throes of the “Chinese fever”, and with the emergence of the Rococo style, Chinese motifs flooded French and then European art. European missionaries, acting as carriers of Chinese and western cultures and ambassadors of cultural transmission, built a kind of a bridge for communication between France and China. The analysis of the influence of Chinese culture on the style and aesthetic views of French Rococo painting from the perspective of intercultural exchange has both theoretical and practical significance for the proper evaluation of the role of Chinese culture in the development of French painting.
