Structures of small mammal populations and communities in Steppe ecosystems of the Caspian northwest coastal area and Eastern Mongolia

Abstract

The responses of populations and communities of small mammals have been studied under different grazing regimens. It is shown that overgrazing and grazing restriction can have a considerable impact on the population status, demographic structure, and alspecies composition of small mammals in the Caspian northwest coast area (Nogai Steppe) and the steppes of Eastern Mongolia
