Abstract

2019 Novel Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) caused by SARS-CoV-2 (Acute Respiratory Syndrome associated with Coronavirus-2) is a major public health concern worldwide. The question of whether SARS-CoV-2 can penetrate testicular tissue and/or sperm is currently unanswered. Also, does not the mere presence of viruses in semen mean that the disease can be sexually transmitted? Currently, a sufficient number of questions arise from specialists dealing with infertility. Unfortunately, there is no reliable data for today. This article analyzes the available publications on the impact of COVID-19 on male reproductive function. Key words: COVID-19, SARS-CoV-2, infertility, testicular tissue, angiotensin-converting enzyme 2. For citation: Popova A.Iu., Gamidov S.I., Ovchinnikov R.I. et al. Impact of COVID-19 on fertility.
