The Use of Information Technology in Court Selection of Preventive Measures: Opportunities and Risks

Abstract

This article highlights specific problematic questions related of the use of information technology in the selection and application of preventive measures in Russian criminal proceedings. The author examines four potential areas for the computerization of criminal proceedings, within which improvements of regulatory and law enforcement approaches to the selection of preventive measures can be considered.

The reader’s attention is also drawn to certain risks associated with the digitalization of procedural activities related to the application of preventive measures.
