MALASSEZIOSIS IN ATHLETES

Abstract

The discovery, classification, characteristics, and clinical manifestations of Malassezia yeast emergence on human skin are discussed. The data on the incidence of this yeast in athletes of different specialization and a case with disseminated pytiriasis versicolor in a professional athlete are presented.
