Abstract

The extraction of zinc and iron from dusty electrosmelting wastes is discussed. The chemical composition of the dust is investigated. Methods of obtaining zinc- and iron-bearing products by reduction are identified. The optimal conditions for the generation and capture of zinc sublimates are determined. A system for processing steel-smelting dust to obtain iron is proposed. Simultaneously, this technology extracts zinc from the dust in the form of zinc-oxide concentrate.
