Transmission of Light by Crystals with Deep Impurities Affected by a Contribution of Two-Center Mechanism of Nonlinear Photoexcitation

Abstract

It is demonstrated that transmission of laser light sharply decreases on a time scale of several nanoseconds with increase in light intensity in the range of ~105–106 W/cm2 when a two-center mechanism of nonlinear photoexcitation of a transparent crystal with high concentration of deep impurity centers is taken into consideration.
