Abstract
New luminescent mixed-ligand complexes of europium(III) with quinaldic acid and neutral phosphorus-containing ligands with a dimeric structure are synthesized. The structure and the thermal, spectral, and luminescent properties of mixed-ligand europium(III) complexes are studied. It is shown that the quinaldinate ion is coordinated to a europium(III) ion in a bidentate fashion. It is found that the excitation energy transfer to europium (III) ion occurs from levels of quinaldic acid and neutral phosphorus-containing ligands.
