Self-Consistent Calculations of the Quadrupole Moments of the Lowest 3– States in Sn and Pb Isotopes
Аннотация
self-consistent approach to anharmonic effects based on the quantum many-body theory is for the first time used to calculate the quadrupole moments of the lowest 3– states in Sn and Pb isotopes, including the 100Sn, 132Sn, and 208Pb doubly magic ones. The consistency between the mean nuclear field and the effective interaction is maintained using the energy-density-functional method with known parameters of the Fayans functional. Thereby, the quadrupole moments of the lowest 3– states of isotopes with nucleon pairing are reliably predicted, and the existing data for the 208Pb isotope are reproduced. It has been shown that the new three-quasiparticle correlations are responsible for slightly more than half of the observed effect and the remaining part is due to the quadrupole polarizability of the nucleus.

Electromagnetic Interactions of Mesons and the πa1 Diagonalization
Аннотация
It has been demonstrated that, contrary to the commonly accepted viewpoint, electromagnetic interactions cannot be consistently included in the Nambu–Jona-Lasinio model within vector meson dominance. This refers to the procedure for removing the πa1 transition in the effective meson Lagrangian. By the example of the a1(1260)→γπ+π- radiative decay, it has been demonstrated that the gauge invariance condition for the amplitude gives rise to an electromagnetic vertex describing the direct emission of a photon and a pion by a quark–antiquark pair. Surface terms appearing in the calculation of an anomalous triangular quark diagram, where one of the vertices is the interaction violating the vector-dominance hypothesis, play a key role in satisfying the Ward identities.

Compton Scattering of Attosecond X-Ray Pulses on a Hydrogen Atom
Аннотация
The Compton scattering of attosecond X-ray pulses on a hydrogen atom has been studied theoretically in terms of the spectral angular scattering probability during the action of a pulse. The dependence of scattering on the carrier frequency, pulse duration, and scattering angle has been analyzed. It has been shown that the probability of the process at certain parameters of the problem is a nonlinear function of the pulse duration.

Photon Density of States in a Cholesteric Photonic Crystal
Аннотация
The photon density of states in a cholesteric photonic crystal in the region of the photon band has been determined from the measured polarized luminescence spectra. The orientational ordering of the transition dipole moment in luminescence, as well as the ellipticity of light eigenmodes in the photonic crystal, has been taken into account when determining the density of states. Maxima in the spectrum of the density of states on two sides of the photonic band are related to the displacement of states from the band. The group velocity of light inside the photonic band exceeds the speed of light in vacuum.

Field Confinement Energy at a Nonlinear Interface between Nonlinear Defocusing Media
Аннотация
A model of two media with Kerr defocusing nonlinearity separated by a planar interface interacting nonlinearly with excitations has been considered. Two new types of stationary states describing the transformation of a soliton lattice to a damping field at the passage through such an interface have been found. These two types of states differ in the energy range of existence and in the character of field damping with the distance from the interface. The energies of long-wavelength states have been obtained. The conditions of the existence of such states have been determined depending on the characteristics of media and the interface between them.

Atomic Rearrangements and Photoemission Processes at a p-GaN(Cs)–Vacuum Interface
Аннотация
Spontaneous changes in photoemission properties of a р-GaN(Cs)–vacuum interface with effective negative electronic affinity induced by rearrangements of its atomic structure have been studied for the first time. The optimum Сs coating that ensures both the maximum photoelectron escape probability and its stability has been found. A thermodynamic model has been proposed to escape the relation of the photoemission properties of the р-GaN(Cs)–vacuum interface to its free energy and entropy.

Multicomponent Electron–Hole Liquid in Si/SiGe Quantum Wells
Аннотация
The density functional theory is used to calculate the energy of an electron–hole liquid in Si/Si1–xGex/Si quantum wells. Three one-dimensional nonlinear Schrödinger equations for electrons and light and heavy holes are solved numerically. It is shown that, in shallow quantum wells (small x), both light and heavy holes exist in the electron–hole liquid. Upon an increase in the Ge content, a transition to a state with one type of holes occurs, with the equilibrium density of electron–hole pairs decreasing by more than a factor of 2.

Quantum Oscillations of Magnetization in Antiferromagnetic Semimetals on a Triangular Lattice
Аннотация
The specific features of magnetization in antiferromagnetic semimetals with a low charge carrier density on a triangular lattice in a high magnetic field are studied. It is demonstrated that the well-known plateau in the magnetic field dependence of the magnetization manifesting itself in the subsystem of localized S = 1/2 spins is actually not strictly horizontal but has a slight positive slope. It is found that an abrupt change in the frequency of quantum oscillations of the magnetization in the itinerant subsystem should be observed at the magnetic field values corresponding to the edges of this plateau owing to the strong s–d(f) exchange coupling.

Single-Ion Mechanism of Weak Ferromagnetism and a Spin-Flop Transition in One- and Two-Position Antiferromagnets
Аннотация
A system of equations describing the ground state in an external magnetic field has been obtained for a twoposition antiferromagnet with noncollinear axes of single-ion anisotropy of moments of different sublattices. It has been shown that the antiferromagnetism vector changes sign at a spin-flop transition. This leads to a first-order magnetic phase transition with hysteresis in the field dependence of the magnetization. Explicit relations have been obtained between the parameters of a microscopic Hamiltonian and the experimentally observed spontaneous moment and spin-flop transition field. It has been shown that the field dependence of the total magnetic moment of the antiferromagnet with magnetic ions at two crystallographically nonequivalent positions (two-position antiferromagnet) obtained within the two-sublattice model is nonlinear above the transition field at any orientation of the crystal with respect to the magnetic field.

Single-Photon Emitter at 80 K Based on a Dielectric Nanoantenna with a CdSe/ZnSe Quantum Dot
Аннотация
The emission characteristics of a source of single photons based on an epitaxial heterostructure with CdSe/ZnSe quantum dots and a cylindrical waveguide with a varying cross section formed in a resist layer by electron-beam lithography are investigated. It is shown that a flux of single photons at a wavelength of 530 nm with an average rate of about 1 MHz and the value g(2)(0) = 0.15 ± 0.03 of the second-order correlation function at zero delay can be generated under optical pumping at 80 K.

Negative Differential Resistance and Other Features of Spin-Dependent Electron Transport in Double-Barrier Hybrid Superconductor–Ferromagnetic Metal–Normal Metal Structures
Аннотация
Spin-dependent electronic transport is theoretically investigated for double-barrier hybrid structures S–IF–F–IF–N and S–IF–N–IF–N, where S is a superconductor; F and N are ferromagnetic and normal metals, respectively; and IF is the spin-active barrier. It is shown that in the case of strong superconducting proximity effect and sufficiently thin F layers, the differential resistance of such structures can become negative at some voltages, and the voltage dependence of the current can have an N-shaped form. Characteristic feature of the differential resistance is its asymmetric dependence on voltage, which is most clearly manifested at strong polarization of at least one of the barriers. The influence of impurity spin–orbit scattering processes in the N-layer located between the barriers is investigated. The study was carried out for the case of diffusion electron transport.

EPR Spectroscopy of Impurity Thulium Ions in Yttrium Orthosilicate Single Crystals
Аннотация
The frequency-field and orientation dependences of the electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectra are measured for impurity Tm3+ ions in yttrium orthosilicate (Y2SiO5) single crystals by stationary EPR spectroscopy in the frequency range of 50–100 GHz at 4.2 K. The position of the impurity ion in the crystal lattice and its magnetic characteristics are determined. The temperature dependences of the spin–lattice and phase relaxation times are measured by pulse EPR methods in the temperature range of 5–15 K and the high efficiency of the direct single-phonon mechanism of spin–lattice relaxation is established. This greatly shortens the spin–lattice relaxation time at low temperatures and makes impurity Tm3+ ions in Y2SiO5 a promising basis for the implementation of high-speed quantum memory based on rare-earth ions in dielectric crystals.

Freezing of the Dynamics of Spontaneous Electric Field Domains in Microwave-Induced States with a Low Dissipation
Аннотация
The temperature dependence of the microwave photovoltage has been studied in microwave-induced states of a two-dimensional electron system, which are characterized by an almost dissipationless flow of a low-frequency current. At decreasing temperature, a smooth transition has been found from a bistable state, where the photovoltage demonstrates switching between two levels, which are due to reversals of the spontaneous electric field in a domain structure, to a steady state. The transition occurs as the shift of one of the levels of the bistable photovoltage to the other level accompanied by a decrease in the switching frequency. The results indicate the freezing of the dynamic domain structure in the state corresponding to the more stable configuration of the electric field.
