Resumo

An approach to designing generators of high-power rectangular high-voltage pulses of nanosecond duration based on a Fourier representation of these pulses is considered. The design of a gigawatt-power-level generator that consists of partial-current formers, a switch, and a charging device is described. The partial-current formers are based on the use of segments of coaxial lines, the switch is manufactured in the form of a multigap gas-filled spark gap, and the charging device is a Tesla transformer that is built into one of the coaxial lines. The results of the generator tests that demonstrate the capabilities of the considered approach are presented.
