Abstract
From 1955 to 1985 in both urban and rural settlements of the Tatar ASSR there were positive changes in the sanitary conditions of the population: improvement of the sanitary condition of water supply sources, increase in the number of water pipes (see figure), reduction of the share of decentralized water supply sources, improvement of laboratory control of water supply sources and drinking water, and increase in water consumption of the population.
