宗旨及范围

A professional medical publication that reflects the latest research in medical education and medical sciences, including fundamental and applied research, as well as in healthcare organization.

 

The publication's scientific concept encompasses the publication of modern advances in clinical medicine, healthcare organization, and pharmacogenetics. The publication's goal is to promote the scientific achievements of Russian medicine in the Russian Federation and abroad, as well as to stimulate the development of modern, evidence-based approaches to professional development and retraining of healthcare professionals.

The publication presents the unique experience of specialists from various scientific and clinical schools. The journal has a scientific and practical focus and publishes articles by leading experts covering current clinical issues, diagnostics, and treatment of a wide range of diseases, as well as diagnostic and therapeutic algorithms for various nosologies.

 

We publish leading and original articles, short communications, case notes, lectures, and reviews. We strive to develop an interdisciplinary approach, doing everything possible to keep our readers abreast of modern advances in medical science and practice, and assisting physicians and students in mastering modern principles of recognizing and treating a wide range of diseases. One of our priorities is to publish research results in the following specialties: obstetrics and gynecology, internal medicine, general surgery, healthcare management, oncology, cardiovascular surgery, and rheumatology.

Our journal features leading experts in the field of cardiovascular surgery, studying all aspects of this field: from the etiopathogenesis and laboratory and instrumental diagnostic methods for heart and vascular diseases to conservative and surgical treatment, as well as the prevention and treatment of complications of surgical treatment for heart and vascular diseases. Oncology and healthcare management are widely represented. Specialists in obstetrics and gynecology study major obstetric syndromes as causes of maternal and perinatal morbidity and mortality. One of the priority fundamental areas is pharmacogenetics in rheumatology and other somatic pathologies.

The target readership includes physicians and surgeons, healthcare administrators, graduate students, coordinators, students, and university professors.

Both Russian and international scientists and physicians are invited to contribute to the journal.

All scientific articles submitted to the journal "Continuous Medical Education and Science" undergo mandatory double-blind peer review (the reviewer is unaware of the manuscript's authors, and the authors are unaware of the reviewers). The manuscript is sent to the reviewer for evaluation.

1.Articles are reviewed by members of the editorial board and the editorial board, as well as invited reviewers, leading experts in the relevant field of medicine in Russia and other countries. The decision on the selection of a reviewer for the examination of the article is made by the editor-in-chief, deputy editor-in-chief, scientific editor, executive secretary. The review period is 6-8 weeks, but it can be extended at the request of the reviewer.

2.Each reviewer has the right to withdraw from a review if there is a clear conflict of interest affecting the perception and interpretation of the manuscript materials. Based on the results of the review of the manuscript, the reviewer makes recommendations on the future of the article (each decision of the reviewer is justified):

-the article is recommended for publication in its present form.;

-the article is recommended for publication after correcting the shortcomings noted by the reviewer.;

-the article needs additional review by another specialist.;

-the article cannot be published in the journal.

3.If the review contains recommendations for correcting and finalizing the article, the editorial board sends the author the text of the review with a proposal to take them into account when preparing a new version of the article or to refute them (partially or completely). The revision of the article should not take more than 2 months from the moment of sending an e-mail to the authors about the need to make changes. The article revised by the author is re-sent for review.

4.If the authors refuse to finalize the materials, they must notify the editorial board in writing or orally of their refusal to publish the article. If the authors do not return the revised version after 3 months from the date of sending the review, even if there is no information from the authors with a refusal to finalize the article, the editorial board removes it from the register. In such situations, an appropriate notification is sent to the authors about the withdrawal of the manuscript from registration due to the expiration of the deadline for revision.

5.If the author and the reviewers have unresolved contradictions regarding the manuscript, the editorial board has the right to send the manuscript for additional review. In conflict situations, the decision is made by the editor-in-chief at a meeting of the editorial board.

6.The decision to refuse publication of the manuscript is made at a meeting of the editorial board in accordance with the recommendations of the reviewers. An article that is not recommended for publication by the decision of the editorial board will not be accepted for reconsideration. A notice of refusal to publish is sent to the author by e-mail.

7.After the editorial board of the journal decides to allow the article to be published, the editorial board informs the author about it and specifies the publication dates.

8.The presence of a positive review is not a sufficient reason for the publication of the article. The final decision on publication is made by the editorial board. In conflict situations, the decision is made by the editor-in-chief.

9.The original reviews are kept in the editorial office of the journal for 5 years.

10.The editorial board of the journal sends copies of the reviews to the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation upon receipt of a corresponding request.
