Middle Eocene diatoms from the Pervoocherednaya hole, eastern Sea of Okhotsk

Аннотация

The results of the study on diatoms revealed in Eocene deposits of the Cenozoic sequence of the Pervoocherednaya hole, which was drilled near the Southwestern Kamchatka coast, are presented. The taxonomic composition of the studied diatom assemblage including marine diatom plankton is characterized. These are the first findings of Middle Eocene planktonic diatoms having a stratigraphic value in sequences of the eastern Sea of Okhotsk region.
