Influence of a Lubricant on the Flow Parameters of a Molten Polymeric Material in Channels of Forming Devices

Abstract

The analysis of influence of lubricants on flow melt parameters of various polymers in extrusion forming devices was carried out. A mathematical model of polymer flow was developed taking into account the presence of a lubricant layer. The results of numerical modeling obtained on the basis of experimentally determined parameters for the passage of polymer melts through capillaries with various cross-sections are presented. The necessity of taking into account the influence of a lubricant layer in the calculation of processing equipment is shown.
